12 – 30 JUNE SOCIETY OF SUSSEX PAINTERS (SSP) 100 YEARS: AS WE SEE IT NOW
The centenary show, 1924 – 2024, for the SSP – 18 practising artists working in the field of portrait, figurative, landscape, abstract, illustration, sculpture and printmaking. Not to be missed!
3 – 14 JULY ROB UPWARD & JENNY BRYANT IMPRESSIONS FROM TWO HEMISPHERES
Working mainly in acrylics, this husband and wife exhibition captures glimpses of their two homelands, Southern England and South Island, New Zealand. There are also images of the journeys they have made between the two hemispheres .
20 JULY – 31 AUGUST MABEL PRYDE NICHOLSON – ‘PRYDIE’ 1871 – 1918 –
An overlooked talent and mother of a British art dynasty. Prydie lived at The Grange in Rottingdean with her husband, the artist William Nicholson, and their four children, Ben, Tony, Nancy & Kit. Mabel Pryde was a prodigious talent in her own right.
