Food Donation Drop Off

Food Donation Drop-Off In Rottingdean

From Ian Wilson, The Queen Vic in Rottingdean, Brighton:

Some of the voluntary organisations that provide free hot food are beginning to run out of supplies. Cllr. Bridget Fishleigh has asked us to be a drop-off point for emergency supplies. As well as the usual dry goods for food parcels, they need ingredients for cooking – baking ingredients, spices and seasonings, stuff for cooking tasty wholesome meals. We’ve put a couple of insulated boxes in a sheltered spot at the top of the alley – just follow the signs.

We’re big believers that actions speak louder than words. Over the last few weeks we’ve been putting a little light work into preparing the community network to go live again if it needs to. Rest assured that if you are worried about yourself or a loved one over the next few months, we as a community can make sure they’re OK.

This afternoon Bridget took off an AMAZING boot-load of your donations which are being shared out between three local projects, where your kindness will make a tangible difference to people who need an extra hand right now. It seems likely that this won’t be the first appeal over the coming months, so please watch this space!
