Throughout his time living in Rottingdean (1880-98), Edward Burne-Jones worked on his most personal of projects; a group of 38 watercolour paintings inspired by the common names of flowers. Leaving them to his wife, Georgiana, she collated them all and with the Fine Art Society, published them posthumously in 1905 as a Limited Edition of 300 copies.
Now 120 years later, Rottingdean Heritage is exhibiting one of those editions, with its original colour plates, back in Rottingdean where the paintings were created. A truly once in a lifetime exhibition.
