The Society was founded in 1948 and aims to perform 3 plays and a pantomime each year at the Rottingdean Village Hall. High standards are sought and, over the years, entries for the annual Brighton and Hove Arts Council Drama Competition have received ten awards including recognition of the warm and welcoming theatrical environment, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor, Best Stage Setting and three times in ten years for the Best Overall Production. We welcome any adult of any ability to come along and join our dramatic family, whether that is on stage, behind the curtain or Front of House.
Performances: will be held July 10-13, Oct 9-12 and January 15-19 & 23-25 2025 – tickets for the performances can be found at www.ticketsource.co.uk/rds

Rottingdean Drama Society Events & Workshops:
For all our Active Members, we host social events each year so that friendships and trust are formed. We aim for one event in each season, perhaps a Christmas dinner, Christmas carols, a Halloween party, Bonfire Night flashes and bangs, a summer pool party, or a picnic.
We arrange different workshops to help Active Members build their confidence and gain new skills. These might cover movement, stage combat, breathing, character development or vocal exercises.
We also hold workshops on how to safely use the Society’s lighting, sound and other equipment.
Volunteering Info:
We welcome new Active Members all throughout the year. If you are new to drama or have years of experience, please do not hesitate to come along to an audition or a rehearsal to meet other Active Members.
