Folk singing at The Windmill – singing as the sun rises
Hosted by Ovingdean resident Jo Goddard, this windmill session is an early one…..
Jo is joined by two local singers: Lizzie Overs who organises folk singing outdoors, leading singing walks in Sussex. Her album Nightjar has just been released – check out https://www.instagram.com/overslizzie/
and Sandra Manning-Jones, who hosts a monthly folk song session at the Kings Head in Lewes https://www.instagram.com/one_may_morning/
We are singing outside and also inside upstairs in the windmill. We will start at Sunrise – 5.30am, weather permitting. Wrap up warm! We have some chairs but feel free to bring a folding camp chair if you need it. Hot drinks available, bring a mug.
All donations and ticket sales will go towards Rottingdean Heritage for ongoing windmill repairs. Cash or card payments welcomed! £5 waged, £4 unwaged.

PRACTICALITIES: Dress warm as it can be draughty by the Mill. Toilets available close by. Buses: there are seafront buses that stop close by but none are of much use for the start time, but ideal for getting home afterwards! 12, 12a, 14, 14c, 27, 47 – board at ‘The Windmill’ stop
Please note that the windmill is a historic building with 2 levels, the ground floor is level access with narrow areas and the first floor has steep stairs – we will most probably sing upstairs. Please take extra care on the stairs.
Sorry no dogs inside the mill. Any questions? Contact Jo – [email protected]
